I am a graduate from Henderson State University. I have been teaching for 35 years and am certified in Reading Recovery.
These past few years I have received training for R.I.S.E. (Reading Initiative of Student Excellence).
My teaching career began in 1984, in St. Joe, Arkansas. After taking a year off, I began teaching in Huntsville in 1986 and have been here ever since.
From an early age I was immersed in the educational world. My mother, father, grandfather, aunts, and uncles were all educators. Being an educator has always been valued and encouraged.
I have been married for 37 wonderful years. Tyler and I have 3 sons, all who graduated from Huntsville. We own a farm near Marble. Along with teaching and farming, we enjoy four wheeling and our grandchildren!!!!
I love to go biking and hiking as much as possible. I did climb Pike’s Peak a couple of years ago, what an adventure!!! The addition of my grandchildren has been a wonderful blessing and I try to see them as much as possible.
